While we know many of you will resolve to live better by eating better or getting more exercise, some of us will make the ultimate resolution to try to live a greener lifestyle, staring with the products in our home.

Many of the custom homes and renovation projects that we work on revolve around creating a greener home by utilizing sustainable products and including the latest in green design in each room. One of the products that Georgetown Development recently came across that is destined to become a must have for any green home is The Solon compost system by Blanco. This state-of-the-art compost system allows homeowners to seamlessly store organic waste for composting in the kitchen. The recycled stainless steel container installs into the countertop and includes a sealed lid to contain odors. The system is available as a drop-in design or a flush option for stone tops, making the design not only a functional addition to any new kitchen, but an attractive one.

At Georgetown Development, we are committed to helping homeowners achive the green home deisgn they’ve always envisioned. DC Summer will be here before we know it.

Posted by gdcadmin in Summer in DC , DC landscaping , Bethesda outdoor living

It seems like a few short months ago we were entertaining friends and family outdoors in our shorts and t-shirts. The temperatures may have dropped, but our love of outdoor entertaining in the Nations Capitol hasn’t!

At Georgetown Development, we understand that when designing your ideal custom home, attention must not only be paid to the interior but the exterior as well; this includes an outdoor space for entertaining during the warmer months. More and more people are spending the extra money up front to create a functional outdoor space than spending money each weekend to go out to eat in Bethesda or yearly vacations. With a new outdoor space, homeowners can bring the vacation into their backyard!

A functional outdoor space doesn’t have to mean an elaborate layout; an elegant and inviting space can be achieved by strategic placement and the right materials. Check out some ideas for creating the perfect outdoor space with a few key elements here.

Georgetown Development can help you create your ideal outdoor space within your budget. To view some of our most recent work, please visit us at www.gerogetowndevcorp.com
