Whers the drain?

When we sit down with a new client for either a custom luxury home design or a custom renovation project, we tend to hear similar stories every now and then. While homes in the Washington DC metro area all have a look and feel of their own, each owner is typically looking for a home that marries form with function, and at Georgetown Development, we couldn’t agree more.

Check out this new stainless steel linear shower drain. Imported from Europe, this drain brings a level of class and elegance to your bathroom that has never before been dreamed of. The water looks like it’s simply disappearing into the floor and the drain can even be set with tile to keep an even lower profile!

We know planning out the perfect home space can be taxing, that’s why we’re here to help. Georgetown Development keeps us with the latest in home renovation trends so you don’t have to!

Typically trade shows are a mad house. Everyone is rushing from booth to booth to see what’s new, what’s on trend, what the next big thing is. This year’s American Institute of Architects (AIA) convention last month in Miami wasn’t really any different. While the number of attendees might have been smaller, the abundance of new products made up for it.

From sleek solar panels to decorative windows made from bamboo, this annual green conference displayed products for everyone. Click here to view some of the highlights.

Georgetown Development has worked on increasingly green homes throughout the Washington, DC metro area and would love to help you with your next green project. From one room renovations to custom home designs, Georgetown Development has been helping homeowners create their dream spaces for over ten years.

Water Guidelines

It’s summer in Washington, DC so you know what that means; heat, humidity and a nice cool shower. But with new Water Sense guidelines from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are your cold showers coming to an end?

As water conservation becomes increasingly more important for many areas across the U.S., and because showering accounts for approximately 17 percent of residential indoor water use, low-flow showerheads (or other conservation-minded plumbing products, for that matter) are not going away.

So, does this mean that your high-blast shower has to come to an end? Not necessarily. Click here to view some new, water saving shower heads from manufacturers all over the world. At Georgetown Development, we understand how important it is not only to install products that compliment each home design but are also in compliance with DC regulations.

Today’s options when it comes to flooring are a far cry from the days of orange shag carpet and can complete the look to any room, from kitchens to baths to living rooms, if you have the vision, there’s a flooring style to match it.

When we saw all the new materials that can be used to create an amazing space, we were well, floored! Here at Georgetown Development we look for accents that make each living space unique whether you’re re-designing your space to be more green or if you’re creating a custom home from the basement up.

Take a look at some of these unique styles, from cork to bamboo; we can help you choose the best floor for your home.
